A Creative Journey

Douglas F. Hildebrand has been writing about Nebulous Crumb since 1983. In the spring of that year, after plowing garden A, he experienced a night of five inches of rain. The next morning, sunlight revealed a shiny object about halfway across the south end of the garden—a crystal doorknob standing straight on its brass stem. Inspired by the sight, Doug began carrying pens and spiral notebooks to jot down notes every morning, turning them into story form.

The Project

CRYSTAL DOORKNOB STUDIOS is now publishing the novels and Nebulous Crumb story poems from Studio A, along with props and a sign workshop. The collection features over 100 characters and original songs and music that accompany the stories.

The Future

Garden A has been re imagined as “The Poet’s Garden,” set to open in 2027 with the theme *WELCOME TO BETWIXT!!*
